Fulton County Job & Family Services provides Adult Protective Services to the elderly who are age 60 years or older who are in danger of abuse, neglect or exploitation. The most common forms of abuse reported in Ohio include: neglect, self-neglect, exploitation, emotional abuse, physical abuse, and sexual abuse. Elderly are in danger of harm, unable to protect themselves or have no one else to assist them. Fulton County Job & Family Services is mandated by the State to investigate and evaluate all reports of suspected abuse, neglect and exploitation.
A caseworker is on call at all times to respond to emergencies. The identity of the referent is always kept strictly confidential. When calling in a referral, the name, address and age of the elder should be provided along with as much information on the allegation.
