Responsibilities
Probate courts supervise the probate of wills and the administration of estates and guardianships. They also have jurisdiction over marriage licenses, adoption proceedings, determination of sanity or mental competency, and certain eminent domain proceedings. The Fulton County Probate Court does not perform wedding ceremonies, we only issue the license. However, we can provide you with a list of people that will officiate.
