Sheriff Darrell E. Merillat has been serving Fulton County as the Sheriff since 1985, and is now in his sixth term. Prior to taking office he had served for 12 years as a Deputy Sheriff. A lifelong resident of Fulton County, he is a graduate of Gorham-Fayette High School. Sheriff Merillat has attended Owens College and the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
