The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 40 to 45 years of age, 5'8" to 6' tall, 180-190 pounds with dark hair, goatee and stubble on the cheeks.

The
Fulton County Sheriff's Office recently received a complaint reference a
phone call that was placed to a citizen of Fulton County. The caller was
trying to get donations to buy bullet proof vests for the Fulton County
Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Merillat wants citizens to know that the
Fulton County Sheriff's Office is not affiliated with this and is
attempting to determine who is responsible for these solicitations.![]()
The
Fulton County Sheriff's Office was advised that the juvenile shot in
Fulton County on 10-23-2006 passed away around 9:00 PM![]()
On
10-23-2006 at 3:02 PM, The Fulton County Sheriff's Office responded to a
rural Delta address, in York Township, reference a shooting
investigation. Upon arrival the Sheriff's Deputy found a male juvenile
was injured from an apparent self inflicted gun shot wound from a .22
caliber rifle. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Delta EMS and Fire
along with Life Flight. The victim was air lifted to St. Vincent Mercy
Medical Center. The victims condition is unknown at this time. The
incident remains under investigation by The Fulton County Sheriff's
Offic

At 07:06 A.M. The Fulton County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call from 1871 CO RD E, Swanton for an injured person.
Swanton EMS personnel were dispatched to the residence and arrived at 07:15 A.M..
After medical personnel found the victim, Patricia Saunders, she told them she had been stabbed by her husband.
EMS personnel then removed the victim from the scene and requested Law Enforcement. Deputy Rick Brock arrived on scene and was told the suspect was in the house with two children. Deputy Brock made entry into the residence where the suspect fled down a hallway then in to a bedroom. The suspect then reportedly shot at Deputy Brock 3 times and hitting him twice in the left shoulder.
Deputy Brock retreated and requested backup.
Deputy Brock was assisted by Lucas and Henry County Sheriff Offices, Swanton and Delta Police departments, The Ohio State Forestry Ranger, The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification.
At 09:35 A.M. several calls were made to the residence by a negotiator at the scene
At 09:47 A.M. a decision was made to send the Lucas County entry team into the residence, once inside the entry team found 3 deceased victims; Clarence Saunders Age 58, Lauren Saunders Age 10 and Jacob Saunders Age 5.
Assistant Coroner Dr Kenton Kamp ordered all three victims to be taken to Lucas County for autopsies from the residence.
The Patricia Saunders and Deputy Rick Brock were transported to St. Vincents Hospital by air ambulance.
The case remains under investigation by the Fulton County Sheriff's Office
and Bureau of Investigation and Identification.![]()
The Fulton
County Sheriff's Office was informed that John Engelhardt, and James Elliot
have been released from the hospital and are at home recovering. Ryan Krise
and Jimmy Dennis are still in the hospital and may be released later today.
The case still remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.![]()
This morning around 8:00 a.m. The Fulton County Sheriff's Office was called to 6476 Co Rd 2 in Swancreek Township in reference to an unresponsive juvenile. John Engelhardt, age 14 of Lucas County was transported to the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon and later transported to St. Vincents Medical Center.
Upon further investigation by the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, units were led to the residence of 6706 Co Rd 2 where three other juveniles were also found unconscious. Jimmy Dennis, age 17 of rural Swanton, James Elliot age 14 of rural Lucas County, and Ryan Krise age 14 of rural Delta, were all initially treated at the scene by Swanton Fire and EMS personnel and then all three juveniles were then transported to St. Vincents Medical Center by Lifeflight crews.
Also assisting at the scene were Delta EMS, Swanton PD, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Fulton County Emergency Management Agency.
The case remains under investigation by the Fulton
County Sheriff's Office.![]()
The Fulton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a two vehicle injury crash that took place at the intersection of Co Rd D and Co Rd 17 in Clinton Twp. An Edguardo Fuenes, age 33 of West Unity, was operating a vehicle north on Co Rd 17 and was turning westbound onto Co Rd D when he failed to yield to an eastbound vehicle being driven by a Melissa McQuillen age 24 of Swanton, Ohio. Passengers in the Fuenes vehicle were lifeflighted to St. Vincents Hospital in Toledo and were listed in serious condition. Ms. McQuillen was transported to the Fulton County Health Center where she was treated and released. The crash remains under investigation by the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.
Assisting at the scene was the Wauseon Fire/EMS and
Archbold EMS along with Lifeflight.![]()

April Is Alcohol Awareness Month
Alcohol Awareness Month,
observed by communities throughout the United States , is a national
grassroots effort to support research, education, intervention and
treatment for alcoholism and alcohol-related problems.
Sponsored by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence
since 1987, Alcohol Awareness Month offers organizations with different
missions an opportunity to work together to raise awareness about the
negative consequences of underage drinking.
ALCOHOL-FREE WEEKEND TO BE OBSERVED APRIL
7-9, 2006
Alcohol-Free Weekend,
traditionally observed during Alcohol Awareness Month in April, is
scheduled for April 7-9, 2006 .
The Ohio
Department of Public Safety asks parents and other adults to use this
weekend to explain to young people that alcohol isn't necessary to have
a good time. Parents are encouraged to discuss the effects and
consequences of underage drinking with their children.
The
program
The Ohio Department of Public Safety's
program 21 Wait…Learn…Live…, is an alcohol awareness program for all
schools that focus the following issues:
• underage drinking
• penalties for Operating a Motor-Vehicle after Underage Consumption (OMVUAC),
• the use of fake ID's to purchase alcohol and
• the penalties that parents and liquor establishments can face if they provide alcohol to children under the age of 21.
