Correspondence from Ohio Department of Taxation |
A letter was received from the Ohio
Department of Taxation, stating that the
county portion of the sales and use tax rate will increase by
(1/2%)
one-half
percent effective January 1, 2010.
Due to rising production and postage expenses, the Department of
Taxation will no longer mail notices concerning sales tax rate
changes. While this may be a minor inconvenience for some
taxpayers, the long term affect will save Ohio’s taxpayers
thousands of dollars.

View of Proposed
Ditch Improvement 2110-Howard |
Commissioner Short
convened the view at the site of the proposed improvement at CR
10-2 between Roads J & K, with Commissioners Genter and Barnaby
also present, together with Rod Creager, Joe Fenicle, and Brinda
Miller from the Fulton County Engineers Office, and various
landowners.
Commissioner Short
turned the discussion over to Rod Creager, Chief Deputy
Engineer. Mr. Creager explained that a Petition had been filed
by Jack Howard for drainage improvements on a previously
petitioned ditch. Specifically for a new outlet tile. There are
currently two-12” tiles. One 12 would be replaced with a new
18, while one of the 12’s would remain in service. Mr. Creager
pointed out the petitioned area and explained the ditch petition
process as prescribed by the ORC. He stated that in his previous
discussion with some landowners and trustees, there is talk of a
possible extension of the original petition that was filed. He
stated that one tile is approximately 100 years old and was
unsure of the age of the other. A landowner suggested it may
have been put in sometime in the 20’s. Mr. Creager explained
that a useful life of a drainage tile was approximately 50
years. A landowner asked about the costs of the project. Mr.
Creager explained the process and that during the first hearing
he would give preliminary estimates. He cannot get exact
figures until the Commissioners order the survey.
The First Hearing on
this matter will be held in the Commissioners Session Room at
10:30 a.m. on November 30, 2009.
The View Ended at
10:29 a.m. |
