·Discuss Letter of Interest Received for the Board of MR/DD Vacancy Resolution 2008-1042 Appoint Member to Board of MR/DD

Pursuant to the resignation of Karen Cordray from the Board of MR/DD effective December 31, 2008, a letter of interest was received from Shirley Colon to fill the vacancy.  After consideration, Commissioner Barnaby made the motion to appoint Ms. Colon to the Board of MR/DD and Commissioner Short seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.  Said term will commence January 1, 2009 and run through December 31, 2012.

NEW BUSINESS:

· Ziad Musallam, Sanitary Engineer To Discuss Kerr Waterline Petition

Mr. Musallam explained that late last week he received a waterline petition from Jack Kerr, landowner along US20A.  The petition proposes 5,000 feet of water supply line going west on US20A from the corner of US20 and SR 108.  Mr. Musallam presented a map of the area and proposed water line for the Board’s review.  He explained that he has not yet had the opportunity to do a survey or come up with a preliminary cost estimate and will bring forth more information next week for the Board’s consideration.  He noted however that he does know that this area is located within the urban growth of Wauseon.

Curt Jones and Amanda Podach were present to give the Board an update.  First discussed was the 60th Annual meeting that is approaching. Next they presented their accomplishments throughout 2008 for discussion as follows:
