Fulton County Sanitary Engineer - Discussion on Northeast Fulton
County Water Supply |
Mr. Musallam was
present to discuss funding options currently available for the
Northeast Fulton County Water Supply after his recent discussion
with the Small Community Environmental Infrastructure Group last
Wednesday. He presented the Board with a summary of these
options and explained each of them, which were a combination of
grants and loans through several programs offered through CDBG
(Grant), the USDA (Loan and Grant), OEPA (Loan), OPWC (Loan and
Grant) and the OWDA (Loan). He further presented the Board with
a scenario based spreadsheet with the options that are being
presented at this time, however acknowledged that this is only a
guideline until it is determined how much funding will be
received. He stated that he will again be meeting with the
Small Community Infrastructure Group next week to further
discuss developments. A meeting at the Fulton Township Hall
regarding this matter is being arranged as well and is scheduled
for June 3, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. |

Correspondence from FEMA Regarding Flood Map Modernization
|
The Department of
Homeland Security is holding a Flood Map Scoping Meeting in the
Conference Room in the Fulton County Administration Building on
Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. to inform the communities
within Fulton County of FEMA’s overall mapping objectives and
participation in the development and maintenance of a local
Digital Flood Insurance Rate Mapping System. |

The Engineer’s
Estimate on this project is $75,000. Two bids were received as
follows:
A&S Industrial
Coating, Warren, MI $119,970.00
George Kountoupes
Painting Co., Lincoln Park, MI 48146 $85,500.00
These bids will be
referred out to Dixon Consulting for their review and
recommendation for award of bid. |

View of Proposed
Right of Way Vacation - Lauber |
The Board of
Commissioners, with all members present, met at the site of the
proposed right-of-way vacation, petitioned for by Mr. Samuel
Lauber. Said site is located to the west of County Road 22 on
the North side of Mr. Lauber’s property. Also in attendance
were Mr. Lauber and County Engineer, Frank Onweller. The
proposed right-of-way was located and Mr. Barnaby convened the
view at 10:05 a.m. Mr. Lauber presented a plat of the area and
explained that the current right-of-way was originally used as a
lane for timbering. Mr. Lauber stated that he is the owner of
the property on both sides of the lane and that the property
owners to the east do not use it.
It was noted that a
public hearing would be held on this matter next Thursday at
10:00 a.m.
