County Sanitary Engineer, to discuss:
a. Northeast Fulton County Water System
b. Correspondence from Village of Fayette Regarding Riviera
Mobile Home Court |
A. Mr. Musallam was
present to update the Board on the Northeast Fulton County Water
Project and presented the Board with a summary of Water Rates
and Project Costs associated with the project with one scenario
including Lyons and Metamora and the other only including
Metamora. He noted that without Lyons, there is a significant
drop in costs in infrastructure however an increase in water
costs.
B. The Board was
presented with correspondence from the Village of Fayette
regarding the Riviera Mobile Home Park. The Fayette Village
council passed a resolution on July 10, 2008 to connect to
Mobile Home Park to the Village’s Sanitary Sewer System,
contingent on the approval by the OEPA and a financial agreement
between the Village and the private parties involved therewith.

Kim Bowles,
Director, Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation District
Departmental Update |
Kim Bowles and Curt
Jones from the Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation
District were present to update the Board on activities since
coming before the Board in June. Ms. Bowles presented the Board
with a written report outlining said activities and Mr. Jones
went through the report.
He stated that today
they are conducting a tour of their conservation practices for
Mr. Terry Cosby, the USDA-NRCS State Conservationist. Mr. Jones
stated that Mr. Cosby is the decision maker on how much funding
each county shall receive;
The preliminary
reports of the AEPP applications have been received. Mr. Boggs,
the Ohio Dept of Ag Director, has adopted 2 guidelines to assist
in selecting the Ag Easements this year with 1 being according
to the Regional balance according to the 2008 Quadrant Map
provided and 2) a limit of 1 funded property per county;
The District is
sponsoring a conservation air tour with the Fulton County
Airport on August 2, 2008 from 8a.m.-5 p.m. The rain date will
be August 9, 2008;
On August 5, 2008
they will take the Commissioners on a tour of the activities
that the District assisted with this past fall and spring;
The District is
hosting the Ohio Federation of Soil & Water Conservation
District Educator’s 3-day Workshop at Sauder’s on August
5th-7th.
The District
co-sponsored the Black Swamp Educators Extravaganza on June 17th-19th.
The Fulton County 4th
Grade Ag Fest is coming up on September 30th and
October 1st. |
