Discussion on Delinquent Dog Tag Collections

Pete Skeldon, Dog Warden, was present for the discussion. Sally Whiting and Doug Nafziger from the Auditor’s Office were also present.  He stated that he received the updated delinquent list from the auditor’s office on Monday of this week and that Fayette and Archbold are done as far as making contact with the dog owners and they have either obtained their tags or are in the process thereof.  He further stated that within the next 10 days to 2 weeks the rest of the county should be completed as well.  They are also in the process of collecting fees from the satellite stations that are selling the tags.  Mr. Skeldon made note of recent cases in Fulton Eastern and Western Courts wherein the failure to obtain a dog tag resulted in 10 days jail suspended and $300.00 in fines.

·County IT Department To Discuss VoIP System

Gene Sugg and Justin Thompson from the Information Technology Department were present for the discussion.  Commissioner Genter inquired of them the amount of money the County has saved since the installation of the new phone system.  Mr. Thompson stated that it was in the ballpark of approximately $4,044 per month, resulting in about $48,500 per year.  There are a few bugs yet that are being worked out for individual departments.  Mr. Sugg stated that the system saves a lot of time because changes can be made directly through the software and the software updates through this new system alone saves about $8,000/year.
