Ziad Musallam, Fulton County Sanitary Engineer - Review
Waiver of Late Fee Request

NorthStar BlueScope Steel has made a request to
have a late fee ($6,700)waivered due to a new accounting system.
This would be a contract issue for NorthStar so Mr. Musallam
informed them the decision would have to be a decision of the
Commissioners. Commissioner Barnaby said he did not think a
precadence should be set by allowing the waiver. Mr. Musallam
said this is not the first time a late fee has been assessed.
Commissioner Genter said he thought a phone call would have been
in order had they known of this problem with their software and
the payment would be late. Ziad noted that they had also been
made aware by fax and by phone that their payment was late.
Commissioner Barnaby said he was against the waiver.
Commissioner Graf said that he could see that if it happened
once it would happen again. Commissioner Genter said that as
long as Lucas County did not charge us a late fee it would not
be a big deal to waiver this for NorthStar. Commissioner Graf
said that if he could be assured it would not happen again, he
would be inclined to waiver this one time. Mr. Musallam said
this is the third time they have been late with payment but the
first time a waiver has been requested. The Commissioners agreed
to deny the waiver request. |
