10:40:06 AM Jan Burkhard and Fulton County Airport Authority FBO Committee - Discuss Interim Airport Operations Commissioner Graf stated that an interim plan needs to be established so airport operations can continue when the Rupps leave at the end of the month. Steps have been taken to purchase short-term insurance during that time lapse. An operations policy has been taken out for 30 days or whatever time is necessary. The apartment issue will be dealt directly with Steve Rupp. Accounts will be reviewed as well.

Commissioner Graf said his idea is to keep it as simple as possible. He said the airport board is smart enough to handle it in the interim time, in his opinion. All monies would go through the airport board's account until the new FBO is up and running. Acceptance of credit cards for payment will need to be set up so that the airport board will receive those dollars.

Commissioner Graf said that Shawn is an employee of the Rupps' but is licensed and could continue as a mechanic. Harold said that it was talked about he could operate the airport. Commissioner Graf asked if it would be possible that he could keep the dollars for his work instead of being paid a wage. Benefits would be an added expense for Shawn. He presently works Monday through Thursday. Glen suggested not charging him the hangar fee for his work if he would pump the gas too. Dan said that he could be treated as an independant contractor.

Jan has interviews set up for next Tuesday.

Glen suggested having a bank account for fuel sales so that it would be simpler - work a deal with Shawn and the airport board would take care of the bookwork. The committee thought that would work. The mowing will have to be taken care of too - Mary Rupp might be interested since she does it now or possibly Brad Merillat who already works out there. Flight instruction will not happen during the interim period.

This will be a backup plan if need be so that airport operations will not shut down. Jan should have a better feel after his interviews if a FBO might be in place and the backup plan not needed. Fuel and oil issues will have to be looked after to balance the books when Rupps leave. Equipment ownership that Shawn uses will have to be checked out too. There are also some repairs that need to be done too such as the fuel meter and the beacon light.

Commissioner Genter asked who the captain was going to be to talk with Shawn and set things up...Jan? Jan said he would go along and help in any way. Dan said that he would talk with Shawn and he would like Jan's assistance. Dan also said he would take care of the phone issues. Commissioner Genter asked who would handle the banking issues. The committee thought that Amy could do that. Jan said that he would call the bank and find out the particulars and get things set up. He has Amy's phone number in case he needs any information.
