in a highway construction environment which included proficient
operation of heavy construction equipment and trucks in addition to
labor intensive functions

Class A CDL License with tanker endorsement

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
The Fulton
County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for two
positions of part time intermittent transfer station operator. This
position works a variable schedule during the week and will include some
Saturdays. Starting pay is $9.00 per hour. The average number of hours
per week is expected to be approximately 4.5-16 hours depending upon
weather and operational workload.
JOB
TITLE: Transfer Station Operator – Solid Waste and Recycling
Department
JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the administrative direction of the
Solid Waste and Recycling Director, the transfer station operator
performs the following tasks and duties as assigned: 1) operate the
scale; 2) accept payment and balance cash; 3) operate backhoe; 4) assist
customers unloading solid waste; 5) answer telephones and perform
customer service; 6) maintain cleanliness of facility; and 7) other
operational assignments as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS: The
successful candidate is expected to assist customers in a friendly and
courteous manner while performing necessary tasks without constant
supervision. Skills will include demonstrated ability to drive a
truck; operate a backhoe and/or forklift; count money and reconcile
financial transactions; lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis; use cleaning
tools, and ability to follow rules and regulations. The successful
candidate must maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license; work on a
rotating Saturday schedule; and occasionally work extended hours and/or
irregular hours. A high school degree or GED is required. No
experience is necessary, but a positive work record is expected.
