    Connect your children to local history! We invite all Home School families to join us for our Home School Appreciation Days at Sauder Village. Pre-register for your day which includes discounted admission to the Historic Village, and special coupons for additional discounts throughout the complex. While you’re here, visit the Historic Village including Pioneer Settlement and much more!

  4. "Preserving Our Memories" Event at Sauder Village

    September 12, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ 22611 St. Rt. 2

    This special event provides plenty of opportunity for education and inspiration as guests learn many easy and exciting ways to preserve and tell your family stories! Learn how memories are preserved at Sauder Village as well as how you can preserve your own family memories at home. Information will be shared about blogging, traditional and digital scrapbooking, heirloom and photo preservation, genealogy and recording your family stories through oral history. Join us to learn how to preserve your memories during this unique event!

  5. "Celebrate Our Artisans" at Sauder Village

    September 15 - September 20 @ 22611 St. Rt. 2

    From traditional trades like spinning and weaving, to our continuing trades like pottery, glass blowing and blacksmithing, join us to celebrate the craftspeople and artisans that make Sauder Village such a great place! There will be special demonstrations in the shops, daily drawings held to win hand-crafted items and lots of fun!

  8. Apple Butter Making Week at Sauder Village

    September 23 - September 26 @ 22611 St. Rt. 2

    The aroma of apples and spices mixed with wood fires and falling leaves signals a change of season and apple butter making at Sauder Village. Produced in the fall as a way to preserve part of the apple crop, apple butter was historically a community project – bringing families and neighbors together each fall. Guests can watch as we boil the cider down, add the thinly sliced apples and then cook the homemade apple butter in copper kettles over an open fire. There will be cider pressing and other apple-themed activities as well as homemade apple dumplings, pies and other treats to enjoy!

  9. Fiber Arts Fest at Sauder Village

    September 26 - September 27 @ 22611 St. Rt. 2

    Artisans from throughout the region will gather at Sauder Village's Founder's Hall to demonstrate and share their love of fiber arts. Guests will be able to watch spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting and tatting demonstrations. There will be fiber exhibits, looms and spinning wheels on display, hands-on activities and dying demonstrations. Select vendors will also be selling handmade items and fiber art supplies.

  10. Wauseon Chili Cook Off

    September 26, All Day @ Downtown Wauseon-Fulton Street

    Chili contest, craft and food vendors, artists and artisans, free inflatables and train rides for kids, live entertainment during the entire event, pumpking contest and new this year a "Cup Cake Decorating Contest". Forms for Chili cook-off participants and vendors can be found on the City of Wauseon web site. You click on the box chili cook off. Forms must be turned in by Friday Sept.11th. If you need more information on being a craft vendor you can call Linda Frey @ 419-583-9899. Also, Trudi Mahnke can answer any questions you may have or send out forms to you. Her number is 419-335-5041 she can be reached Mon thru Friday 8-5.
