Fulton County Recorder

Sandra K. Barber

The County Recorder maintains permanent land records, retains them in archival form so they are accessible to the public.  The Fulton County Recorder also oversees the Microfilm/Records Center where permanent records are being archived electronically and microfilmed for all county departments.  By Ohio Revised Code the Recorder is also a member of the Records Commission which is responsible for Records Retention and Disposal of documents.

In 2015 we filed 7,997 documents and of those documents we had:
 1,847 Deeds, 3,570 Mortgages, 212 Liens, 21 Leases, 1 Partnership, 81 Power of Attorneys, 2 Plats, and 2,260 copies.

Gross revenue for 2015 was $299,580.55 of which $144,152.90 was dispersed to the Ohio Housing Trust Fund.  2015 figures are up slightly from last year. Shortly we will be accepting documents electronically such as mortgages, releases, and assignments.

In the Microfilm Center we have completed approximately 80% of the Probate files and have scanned over a million pages.
